Trends: The Ready, The Set, The Follow.

Hip Hop

Fashion

It's twenty thirteen...so what's new?! Let's make sure to remember, if we want to see change, we must act on it. And I am not talking politics. The fashion in Hip Hop in 2012 was very repetitive. Camo pants, V-Necks, Polo hats, and huge bags. The backpack phase had worn out by then, thank God. That's a trend that we did not benefit from. Now we see J's, Adidas, small one shoulder bags, leggings, and crewnecks. A lot of focus has been put on upcoming underground artists. This has a lot to do with the trends being set this year. With every fresh face, we see a different brand, new style, and fresh new up and coming clothing lines. Lines such as The Dirt Label, Revive, and Detroit Vs. Everybody are all getting major exposure via up-n-coming artists. The Dirt Label recently made a splash in Hip Hop when it was worn by Weezy F Baby himself. All three lines have one specific thing in common: Crewnecks. Hoodies have been in the top running for the past year but now the crewneck has definitely taken the cake.

The crew trend didn't get noticeable until late 2012. Who set it? Well, it's actually been around for years. So it's been set, we all just now chose to follow it. I say this trend will stay for the remainder of the year. But with the fast pace of fashion, things can always change. And when they do, I'll be here to put it on.
